KATHMANDU: The registration of nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) member by-elections is scheduled for Monday.
The Election Commission has scheduled by-elections in the Chitwan electoral constituency-2, Tanahu-1 and Bara-2 on April 23.
By-poll in Chitwan-2 is required after Rabi Lamichhane who was elected to the HoR during the November-20 election was relieved of the post with the Supreme Court’s verdict over his citizenship issue while it is needed in Tanahu-2 after the-then lawmaker Ram Chandra Paudel was appointed on the post of President and it will be taking place in Bara-2 with Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav’s appointment on the post of Vice President.
The Office of Chief Election Commissioner was established on Saturday in view of the HoR by-elections.
