Government not in a crisis as rumored: PM Oli

Says court's full text not required to appoint Rabi Lamichhane as Home Minister

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has dismissed rumors that the government was facing crisis.

UML Chairman Oli said that the government will not face a crisis at a time when the ruling coalition partners are engaged in an “infighting” over the presidential election and the appointment of the Home Minister.

Speaking to journalists at the Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, former Prime Minister Oli said, “I see no impending crisis.”

The problem is with the system of governance, he said adding, “That’s why no government have completed their full terms after democracy.”

Meanwhile, UML Chairman Oli also said that the Supreme Court’s full text is not required to appoint Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, as the Home Minister.

He said, “I can’t understand why we need the full text of the court to appoint Lamichanne as the Home Minister,” he added.

OLi further stated that the RSP should get the Home Ministry according to the previous agreement.
