KATHMANDU: The politburo meeting of United Socialists is underway in the capital.
Spokesman Jagannath Khatiwada said that the meeting will decide the party’s future course of action, and to process discussions for left unity, among other issues.
The party’s Standing Committee meeting was held on Saturday and Sunday.
The leaders within the party are divided over the issue of joining the government.
Some leaders have said that they should only support the government while most of the leaders have insisted that they should join the government.
Despite Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s request to join the government, the Unified Socialist has not made an institutional decision.
