CIAA implicates three including two PADT member secretaries in Pashupati Jalhari misappropriation case

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against three persons including two member secretaries of Pashupatinath Area Development Trust (PADT).

The CIAA took decisive action by initiating a corruption case against three individuals, suspecting irregularities in the placement of Jalhari within the inner sanctum of the Pashupatinath temple.

The accused parties include the former member-secretary of the Fund, Pradip Dhakal, and the former treasurer of the fund, who currently serves as member secretary, Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, along with one more person. They have been summoned to appear before a special court to face charges related to corruption and damage to public property.

In addition to these individuals, the Commission has also lodged a corruption case against Mr. Arun Kumar Shrestha, who held the position of storekeeper at the Pashupati Area Development Fund. Mr. Shrestha stands accused of misappropriating gold designated for Jalhari, a clear violation of his responsibility to safeguard the fund’s assets.
