NOC hikes prices of petroleum products; LPG cheaper



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented price adjustments for various petroleum products, with petrol, diesel, and kerosene witnessing an increase, while the price of cooking gas has been reduced.

The changes took effect from 12 midnight on Tuesday.

Under the new pricing structure, petrol has seen a rise of Rs 9 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices have increased by Rs 7 per liter.

On the other hand, the price of cooking gas has been reduced by Rs 130 per cylinder.

The revised prices will be applicable at different locations across the country, categorized as follows:

Category 1 includes Charali, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi.

In these areas, the price of petrol will be Rs 170.50 paisa per liter, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 150.50 paisa per liter.

Category 2 covers Surkhet and Dang, where petrol is priced at Rs 172 per liter, and diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs. 152 per liter.

Category 3 encompasses Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, with petrol priced at Rs 173 per liter, and diesel and kerosene costing Rs. 153 per liter.

The price of a gas cylinder has been reduced to Rs 1,660.

These adjustments by NOC have been aimed at reflecting changes in the global oil market and ensuring a balanced pricing mechanism within Nepal, NOC said.
