KATHMANDU: Police Headquarters has written to the Federal Parliament Secretariat seeking the latter’s cooperation to arrest MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who is absconding.

With this, it is likely that Koiri, a CPN-UML MP, will be suspended from the Parliament.

Spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat, Ekram Giri, confirmed that a letter from the Police Headquarters has been received for the second time.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire had earlier said that no agency had formally informed the Parliament Secretariat about the absconding of an MP.
