NSP organizes poetry symposium in Kathmandu 



KATHMANDU: A dozen of poems were recited in a poetry symposium organized by Nagarjun Sahityik Pratisthan (NSP) on Saturday.

Poets read out the poems aimed at social transformation and raising awareness in the symposium titled ‘Subha Prabhat Kabya Gosthi’.

Dr Ramesh Suvekchuk, Chetnath Dhamala, Dil Poudel, Prakash Silwal, Ganga Khatiwada and Ruby Satyal among others presented their creations in the genre of poem, ghazal and muktak.

Commenting on the recited poems, critic Dr Suvekchuk remarked that the poems presented in the symposium had satirized the social and political anomalies and envisaged a well-cultured society.

On the occasion, poets extended their best wishes to founder of Nagarjun Sahityik Pratisthan as well as newly appointed member of Nepal Academy, Chetnath Dhamala, for assuming a new responsibility.

The Sahityik Pratisthan has been organizing poetry symposium every month since the democratic movement in 2062/63 BS. Initially, it had organized poetry recitation program in the street.
