NC calls CWC meeting to address dissenting voices

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of the Central Work Executive Committee (CWC) on Sunday to address the rising dissenting voices in the party.

According to NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the CWC meeting has been scheduled for 10 am on Sunday at the party central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.

The party has called the CWC meeting over the internal disputes regarding participation in the government.

The party’s Shekhar Koirala group refused to send names of ministers complaining party President Sher Bahadur Deuba faction did not address their demand.

The largest party in the parliament, NC has got eight ministerial posts in the CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government. The Koirala-camp is dissatisfied as the party President asked it to send only two names to be picked for ministers.

NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka has been leading NC team in the cabinet.
