Maoist Center holding SC meeting today



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-Maoist Center is holding a meeting of its Standing Committee today (Wednesday).

Party Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the office bearers’ meeting held on Monday decided to hold the SC meeting on Wednesday to discuss the current political developments, among others.

“The Office Bearers’ meeting held on Monday decided to call the SC meeting after enough internal preparations; accordingly, the SC meeting has been called for Wednesday,” Mahara said.

According to him, the allocation of the Home Minister will also be discussed in the SC meeting.

After the then Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane was relieved of his post citing Supreme Court nullified his status as a lawmaker, the post of Home Minister is lying vacant.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been handling the responsibility of the Home Ministry as well.
