NC will focus on organization building: General Secy Sharma

JHAPA: Nepali Congress (NC) general-secretary Biswo Prakash Sharma said the NC would concentrate its efforts for expanding party organization from now onwards.

In his address to a program organized by BP Foundation at Chandragadhi today on the occasion of the National Reconciliation Day, he said the NC would focus on building and consolidating its organizational base in a way to form the government after five years.

Though the coalition was made with the parties, including CPN (Maoist Center) amidst criticism, NC could not retain its existence, Sharma admitted.

Sharma, also the House of Representatives (HoR) member from Jhapa constituency-1, urged the party cadres not to lose patience for not being able to ascend to the power.

Terming the change in political equation an expected incident, he said there was the history that the first people-elected Prime Minster BP Koirala was also abducted from the power.

“NC which remained vibrant even when the multi-party system was collapsed in the past would not be disappointed while keeping away from power”, he added.

The general-secretary also assured the cadres that the party would make a rigorous review on the breakdown of NC-led coalition after the parliamentary election.

He expressed his belief that the party would move ahead with unity in coming days.
