Home Ministry to ease distribution of passport, national ID card

KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry has taken initiatives to ease the distribution of passport and national identity card following the mounting complaints of service seekers.

Spokesperson at Home Ministry, Phanindra Mani Pokhrel, informed that efforts were initiated to address the complaints of compulsion to stay in line for hours, and hassles in filling forms.

Suggestions would be sought from a team of information technology experts on it, Pokhrel added.

Future initiatives would be based on the suggestions by the experts, according to him.

Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane had vowed to ease the distribution of passport and National ID card immediately after assuming the office.

Although the electronic form is filled for passport, the service seekers need to stand in line for hours to complete the process.
