I will contest from Kathmandu Constituency-4: Gagan Thapa

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa said he will contest the November 20 election to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu Constituency-4.

Thapa said this after his name was recommended from Kaski Constituency-1 on Wednesday.

He clarified that he will contest from his previous constituency.

Suspended CJ Rana answers four questions in four hours

The suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has answered four questions in four hours before wrapping up the statement session at the parliamentary committee for today.

The suspended Chief Justice had produced himself before the impeachment motion recommendation committee of the parliament for the statement on Wednesday.

Maoist Center leaders hold talks with President Bhandari

Leaders of the CPN-Maoist Center held a discussion on the Citizenship Bill, among other issues eith President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on Wednesday.

Impeachment motion has already been nullified; I came only to honor the parliament: Suspended CJ Rana

Suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has claimed that the impeachment against him has been already been nullified.

While replying to the inquiry in the impeachment recommendation committee on Wednesday, he said that the rules of the parliament regarding the impeachment were not followed, and he said, “The impeachment has automatically become ineffective.”

“As a citizen, I have come here only to respect the Parliament.”

Kanchanpur sees high risk of dengue; shortage of testing kit

Kanchanpur district has witnessed increasing risk of dengue virus outbreak.

According to the District Health Office, high risk is looming large in the district with the detection of mosquitoes’ larva that can transmit dengue virus.

Kathmandu hospitals witness surge in dengue cases

KATHMANDU: Hospitals in Kathmandu are witnessing a surge in dengue cases as the number of patients with dengue fever has increased in the Valley.

Of late, dengue cases have been mostly detected in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Rupandehi districts in the country.

The inflow of patients has increased in the hospitals of the districts for dengue treatment.

Nepal sees 271 new coronavirus cases, one death in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of 271 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the past 24 hours as of Wednesday.

Of the confirmed cases, 224 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 47 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,920 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

NEPSE falls by 21.97 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the stock market index, fell by 1.10 percent on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

The market index NEPSE fell by 21.97 points (1.10 percent) and closed at 1973.38 points.
