BIRATNAGAR: The Province 1 government has decided to split the existing seven ministries to create 12 ministries.
The government, however, has not divulged details about the split.
According to sources in the Council of Ministers, the government has decided to increase the number of ministries by splitting the ministries of Social Development; Land Management; Agriculture and Cooperatives; Physical Infrastructure Development and Industry Tourism; and Forest and Environment.
“In the next few days, the Council of Ministers will be expanded,” the source said.
With the decision, five more ministries will be added in Province 1.
It has been decided to split the ministries for power-sharing among the five ruling parties.
