IGP Singh briefs Home Minister Lamichhane about the investigation regarding Nirmala Pant incident

KATHMANDU: A team led by Inspector General of  Police (IGP) Dhiraj Pratap Singh briefed Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane about the investigation progress so far regarding Nirmala Pant incident.

Earlier, as his first action against the criminal activities, Home Minister Lamichhane had announced to book the culprit behind Nirmala’s rape and murder.

On Friday, a team including IGP Singh, Additional Inspector General,  and other senior officials gave a briefing on the progress of the investigation so far regarding the Nirmala Pant incident. The team has made the first decision to take maximum efforts to bring justice to Nirmala.

Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl from Kanchanpur, Nepal, was found raped and murdered in a sugarcane field near her home on 27 July 2018, after she had gone missing the day before.
