Nepal and China to move forward on an equal footing: Chinese premier to PM Dahal



KATHMANDU: Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang has congratulated Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ for being appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

Chinese Prime Minister Li, in a congratulatory letter to PM Prachanda through the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, said, “We hope that the new government under your leadership will emphasize national unity, stability and economic and social development.”

Officials of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal handed over the congratulatory letter sent by Prime Minister to Prime Minister Prachanda on Friday afternoon.

The Chinese Prime Minister has also mentioned in the congratulatory letter that he is willing to work with the government led by Prachanda.

He said that he is willing to advance the strategic partnership program for the development and prosperity of both countries.

Chinese Prime Minister Lee has said Nepal and China are traditional friends and the two countries should move forward on an equal footing while respecting each other.
