UML entrusts Chairman Oli to finalize candidates for elections

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Secretariat has entrusted party Chairman KP Oli to finalize the names of the candidates for the upcoming elections.

Chairman Oli will nominate the candidates after necessary consultation with the relevant committees and leaders.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the party’s Secretariat that lasted for nearly six hours on Thursday could not make a concrete decision about the candidates.

“The list will be finalized after further discussion,” a UML leader said.

He also said that the party could also consult with other political parties for electoral coordination.

The party is under immense pressure as the five-party ruling coalition has decided to field candidates on the basis of consensus.
