Maoist Center only force bearing Maoist tag in country, Baburam is not Maoist: Prachanda

CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ claimed that Maoist Center is the only force bearing Maoist tag in the country.

Addressing the party’s liaison coordination provincial committee training on Saturday, Chair Prachanda said that Maoist Center was the only organization bearing Maoist’s tag in the country.

“In upcoming election, Maoist Center is the only Maoist, it is clear that others are of no use,” he said, adding, “Kiran Maoist is of no use, Biplav Maoist also has no meaning anymore, Baburam Bhattarai is not a Maoist, so he is not counted.”

Five-party alliance will continue even after parliamentary election: Madhav Kumar Nepal

CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed the belief that the five-party alliance would continue even after federal and province assembly elections.

Speaking to media persons in Silgadhi on Saturday, Chairman Nepal reiterated on the need to take the ruling coalition further ahead to safeguard democratic norms and values. He arrived Silgadhi to address Unified Socialist cadres’ district level gathering organized by the party’s Doti District Committee.

He shared that an agreement has reached among top leaders of the five-party to continue the alliance even after elections as it is necessary in the present context.

Socialism ensures human rights: Senior leader Khanal

Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal has said socialism ensures human rights. Therefore, establishment of true socialism is imperative, he underscored.

Addressing at district gathering of Nepal Indigenous People’s Federation (Socialist) at Banepa on Saturday, Khanal viewed, “Country has gained republic socialism. Establishment of true socialism guarantees human rights which addresses citizen’s inherent rights.”

Leader Khanal also claimed that Nepali society was making headway to socialist revolution. Nepalis peace and prosperity is assured through the socialist revolution, he added.

One killed, 14 injured in Pyuthan Jeep accident

A person was killed and 14 others injured in a Jeep accident at Bhyagute of Swargadwari Municipality-4, Pyuthan.

A jeep having registration number Lu 3 Cha 353 met with an accident at Bhyagute on Saturday noon while it was returned from Swargadwari temple towards Bhingri.

Area Police Office Bhingri informed that Maya Devi Thakur of Rupandehi was killed on the spot.

As many as 14 others were injured.

I want to see Hridayendra as a king: Rabindra Mishra

The former president of Bibeksheel Sajha Party Rabindra Mishra, has said that he wants to see Hridayendra Shah, the grandson of former King Gyanendra Shah, as the king one day.

Wishing Hridayendra on his 21st birthday, he wrote on Facebook, “I want to see him here as a king one day. Happy 21st birthday!”

He said that based on his 20 years of journalism and 5 years of politics and other experiences, he has reached at the conclusion that only monarchy can help the country overcome the hardship it has been undergoing due to corrupt leadership.

SJF expands its 35-member Nepal chapter

The SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF) executive committee has approved a 35-member committee of its Nepal chapter. The SJF, Nepal Chapter has been led by journalist Prakash Silwal, who works for the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

Other members are Ananta Subedi, Bijaya Dimdong, Chiranjivi Adhikari, Dipak Shrestha, Dipendra Prajapati, Gopal Sangraula, Hemraj Dhakal, Ifran Babu, Jiban Parajuli, Karan Tamrakar, Kaushal Ghimire, Kamal Rana, Kabita Thapa, Lucky Chaudhary, Lav Pyakurel and Madhav Prasad Tiwari, among others.

SAFF Women Championship: Bhutan and Sri Lanka in Nepal’s group

Nepal has been placed in the comfortable group in SAFF Women’s Championship football, scheduled to be organized in Kathmandu.
