Missing Tara Air plane found crashed at Thasang-2 in Mustang



KATHMANDU: The missing plane of Tara Air has been found crashed at Thasang-2 in Mustang district, Nepal Army (NA) has said.

Posting a twitter message, NA said the missing Tara Air plane has been spotted crashed at Sanosware in Thasang-2, Mustang district this morning.

Nepal Army had resumed search operation for the missing Tara Air aircraft from early morning today.

The search for Tara’s plane began shortly after it lost contact on Sunday morning. But the plane could not be found.

On Sunday, a search was conducted for the missing plane by a Nepal Army helicopter but in vain.

Due to the inclement weather, the search operation had to be postponed till Sunday morning.

The 9N-AET-DHC-6 twin-engine aircraft of Tara Air, which flew from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 am yesterday, went missing after it lost contact.

It takes 20 minutes to reach Jomsom from Pokhara. But within 12 minutes of taking off, the aircraft lost contact.

According to Tara Air, the missing aircraft last came in contact with Jomsom Tower at 10:07 am on Sunday at Ghodepani and then lost contact.

There were 22 people including two German nationals, four Indians, 13 Nepalis, and three crew members in the ill-fated plane.
