Banepa Municipality Mayor Bade quits UML, to resign from his post on Monday

KATHMANDU: Banepa Municipality Mayor Laxmi Narsingh Bade has quit the CPN-UML.

Bade aspired to repeat his mayoral candidacy for May 13 local election but the UML has fielded municipal In-charge Ratnakush Ranjitkar as the party’s candidate in his place.

Holding a press conference on Saturday, Mayor Bade said his family had also left the UML. According to him, four organized members from his family were in the UML.

He said, “I had established the UML in Banepa. My family members resigned even as ordinary members from the party as staying in the UML would be, I thought, an insult to my honor.”

He also said that he would resign from the post of mayor as soon as the office reopens on Monday.
