Nepal sees five new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of five new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Saturday.

Out of the confirmed cases, four cases were detected through the RT-PCR method and one through Antigen method.

Of them, two cases were diagnosed in Kathmandu and one in Lalitpur and one in Dang. Likewise, one was antigen data received from SMS and email, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

A total of 2,214 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,066 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,148 through the Antigen method.

No one died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,951 to date.

Currently, there are 230 active cases in the country as 17 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.
