Urmila Thapa wins themed art competition “Flying with Turkish Airlines: Dream Destination”

KATHMANDU: Glocal After School, in collaboration with Turkish Airlines, organized a themed on-site art competition “Flying With Turkish Airlines: Dream Destination” amidst the Skill fest event at Skill Week 2022.

The art competition was organized amidst the beautiful premises of Ace Institute of Management on Saturday (March 26, 2022).

Urmila Thapa, a student of Kathmandu Model College, won the on-site art competition.

Turkish Airlines themed on-site art competition was to promote reflective and critical thinking regarding visual art and at the same time support students in building their dreams. The winner of the competition, Thapa won a round trip economy class ticket from Turkish Airlines from Kathmandu to Germany, as she made Germany as her dream destination in her art.

Along with her, 20 other young artists participated in the competition.

General Manager of Turkish Airlines Abdullah Tuncer Kececi handed over the prize to Thapa.

He said that the art competition was organized to highlight the artistic talents of teenagers. “Turkish Airlines always tries to support youth activities and organize these types of programs. We are very thankful for everyone who has participated in this competition and we are hopeful for next year’s participation too,” he added.

He also appreciated the artwork of the winner stating that her art was very artistic and creative.
