PM Deuba addressing BIMSTEC summit virtually today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is addressing a meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) today.

Prime Minister Deuba will address the meeting of the international organization from the Council of Ministers virtually this morning, informed the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The BIMSTEC summit is beginning from today. Minister for Foreign Affairs is in Sri Lanka, currently. He met with External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar on Tuesday.

Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Thailand are the members of BIMSTEC.
Sri Lanka will chair the meeting of the BIMSTEC. The last summit of BIMSTEC had been held in Nepal in 2018.
