UML Secretariat meet underway to finalize first-past-the-post candidates for Nov 20 elections



KATHMANDU: A Secretariat meeting of the CPN-UML is being held at the residence of party Chair KP Sharma Oli in  Balkot, Bhaktapur, to decide on the candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) and State Assembly elections on November 20.

According to UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal, the first-past-the-post candidates for the HoR and the Provincial Assembly will be discussed in Thursday’s (today) meeting. The meeting began two hours later than earlier stated.

This secretariat meeting is likely to decide which prospective leaders might get tickets for first-past-the-post nomination on October 9.

Similarly, it is said that the meeting will also discuss the electoral coordination with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and the Loktrantrik Samajbadi Party, among others.
