Lumbini Minister of State for Health Bimala Wali resigns

BUTWAL: Minister of State for Health Bimala Kumari Khatri Wali of Lumbini Province has resigned from her post.

According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Wali has tendered her resignation to Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC to facilitate the ongoing investigation against her.

The government had formed a committee to investigate the allegation that she went to the house of YCL leader Ekraj Basnet in Dang earlier this month and treated his wife and daughter indecently.

The committee has already held discussions with Wali and Basnet.

After her husband Uttar Kumar Wali died in a road accident, she had won the by-election in Dang Constituency No. 3 (b) from the then Nepal Communist Party.
