Landslide blocks Sisneri sector of Hetauda-Kathmandu road

KATHMANDU: The Sisneri road connecting the federal capital Kathmandu with Hetauda has been blocked since this morning due to a landslide caused by the incessant rain.

According to Pratima Karki, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Bhimphedi, the traffic was blocked due to the landslide at Ram Chandra Bhanjyang of Indrasarovar-3, since last night.

The continuous downpour has obstructed the attempts to clear the debris, she said.

Inspector Karki informed that the Kulekhani-Fakhel road section and Tribhuvan Highway are still in operation.

However, Kanti Lokpath connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu has also been blocked due to landslides.

According to the Area Police Office, Thingan, the road was blocked due to a landslide at Bhattedanda Garokhola in Lalitpur.
