Floods inundate over 350 houses in Morang



MORANG: More than 350 houses in Morang have been inundated due to incessant rainfall in the district.

According to the District Police Office, Morang, as many as 367 houses in different parts of the district have been inundated till Wednesday morning.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, 359 houses have been inundated due to floods in the Singhiya River in Morang.

According to him, the same number of houses has been inundated in Katahari Village Municipality and other areas.

A total of 1,335 families have been affected by the Singhiya River so far.

According to the police, locals have been affected by the floods in Kanepokhari, Gramthan, Sunvarshi, Pathari, Shanishchare, Urlabari, Budhiganga and Jahda in the district.

Likewise, a body of a man has been found in a drain in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6.

According to Morang Police Spokesperson Shrestha, the body of 30-year-old Santosh Mandal of Mahanagar 5 was found half-submerged in the drain at around 11:15 pm on Tuesday night.

The body has been taken to Koshi Hospital for postmortem.
