Traffic in Nawalpur section along East-West Highway disrupted

NAWALPUR: The East-West highway has been completely halted with the flood sweeping away three diversions along the Nawalpur section road.

Police shared the highway traffic has come to a grinding halt when the flood took away diversions constructed at different places of Nawalpur in course of Narayangarh-Butwal road widening drive.

According to Information Officer at District Police Office and Police Inspector Jayaram Onta, road traffic has been obstructed when the flood blew away three diversions built for the construction of bridges.

The diversions were built for bridges over the Khaharekhola rivulet at Binaya Triveni rural municipality and Thulokhahare and Sanokhahare rivulets at Madhyabindu municiplaity-10 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta-East).

Flooding triggered by the incessant rainfall that occurred since Tuesday afternoon had taken away the diversions.

Onta further informed that the police personnel now are constructing the diversions with the use of dozers in the flood-ravaged area.
