Govt unveils annual budget of Rs 1.793 trillion



KATHMANDU: The government has brought a budget of Rs. 1.793 trillion for the coming fiscal year 2079/80 BS (2022/23 AD).

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma presented the budget through his budget speech on Sunday.

According to the budget, Rs. 753.40 billion has been allocated for recurring expenditure, Rs. 380.38 billion for capital expenditure and Rs. 230 billion for fiscal management.

The government has aimed to collect Rs 1.24 trillion in revenue in the upcoming fiscal. The government also plans to take Rs 256 billion through internal loans and avail 55.46 billion in foreign grants.

Finance Minister Sharma said Rs 242.26 billion would be taken as foreign loans.

The government had brought a budget of Rs 1.632 trillion in the current fiscal year.
