Old age allowance from 68 years



KATHMANDU: The government is to provide an old-age allowance under social security program from 68 years of age from the new Fiscal Year 2022/23.

According to forthcoming budget estimates presented by the Finance Minister Janardan Sharma in the joint sitting of the Federal Parliament today, old age allowance has been amended to be provided from 68 years of age.

It was earlier being provided from 70 years of age. The elderly citizens have been receiving Rs 4,000 monthly under the social security program.

Finance Minister Sharma said that the government would welcome any person who declares not to receive social security allowance.
