KATHMANDU: The government has decided to give 15 percent discount in electricity tariff to industries that consume more than Rs 100 million monthly.

Presenting the budget for the forthcoming fiscal year in the Federal Parliament on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma announced that government will provide up to 15 percent discount on electricity tariff to the industries that consume more than 100 million rupees monthly to develop the industrial sector, attract foreign investment and increase production and export substitution.

The government has adopted the policy of encouraging the use of electricity in the coming fiscal year.
