500,000 squatters to get land ownership certificate in FY 2022/23



KATHMANDU: The government is going to distribute land ownership certificates to the unorganized settlers in coordination with the National Land Commission.

Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2022/23 in the Federal Parliament on Sunday, Finance Minister Sharma announced that the government has planned to land ownership certificates to 500,000 families at 300 local levels.

He also added that the federal land use policy will be implemented for the proper use of land and the use of cultivable land for other purposes would be discouraged.

Finance Minister Sharma said that necessary technical assistance would be provided to formulate land use at the province and local levels.
