Imports of basic agricultural products to be reduced by 30 percent



KATHMANDU: The government has announced that the import of basic agricultural products will be reduced by 30 percent in the Fiscal year 2022/23.

Making the budget for the coming fiscal year public in the Federal Parliament on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, said that the government would reduce the import of agricultural products and encourage the local products in the forthcoming fiscal year.

The government’s budget for the coming Fiscal Year 2079/2080 states that imports of basic agricultural products will be reduced by 30 percent, exports will be doubled  this year and the foreign trade will be brought to the state of balance within the coming five years.
