NRB selling Rs 23.13 billion treasury bill

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to sell treasury bills worth Rs 23.13 billion.

The bank is going to sell bonds through bidding process to raise the required short-term loan to the government on Monday.

The bank is going to sell treasury bills worth Rs 2 billion for a period of 28 days. The treasury bill will mature on June 28.

The bank is going to sell treasury bills worth Rs 3.13 billion for a period of 91 days. The treasury bill will mature on August 30.

Similarly, the bank is going to sell treasury bills worth Rs 6 billion for a period of 182 days. The treasury bill will mature on November 29.

Likewise, the bank is going to sell treasury bills worth Rs 12 billion for a period of 364 days. The treasury bill will mature on May 28, 2023.

According to NRB, the treasury bill will be auctioned on Monday at 3 pm and will be sold on Tuesday.

Treasury bills are short-term government bonds used to raise internal debt for a period of one year or less. There are four types of treasury bills: 28 days, 91 days, 182 days and 364 days.
