Nepal beats Mauritius 1-0 in international football friendly

KATHMANDU: Nepal has won an international friendly match played against Mauritius at Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.

Nepal beat Mauritius 1-0 today. With this, Nepal also broke its 11 years streak of not winning an international friendly. After defeating Bhutan in 2011, Nepal had not secured victory in any international friendly.

Nepali national football team’s Bimal Gharti Magar scored a goal to cement Nepal’s victory in the 55th minute on a pass from Suman Lama.

Bimal scored his first international goal in 2018 against Bangladesh. This is his ninth international goal after 40 months.

After Bimal’s goal, Nepal’s attempts to double the lead were hampered by crossbars and poles.
