India sees dip with 2.35 lakh Covid cases in last 24 hours



NEW DELHI: India registered 2,35,532 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is 6.2 percent lower than Saturday.

The country also reported 871 daily deaths, bringing the total reported death count to 4,93,198, India Today reports.

India’s total caseload now stands at 4,08,58,241, while the active caseload is at 20,04,333. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 1,01,278, it adds.

The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 54,537 cases, followed by Karnataka with 31,198 cases, Tamil Nadu with 26,533 cases, Maharashtra with 24,948 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 12,561 cases.

Around 63.59 percent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 23.15 percent of the new cases.

India’s recovery rate now stands at 93.89 percent.

A total of 3,35,939 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,83,60,710 across the country.

India has administered a total of 56,72,766 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,65,04,87,260.

A total of 17,59,434 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
