Bahadur Lama becomes NC parliamentary party leader in Bagmati



HETAUDA: Bahadur Singh Lama has won as the election held for the leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party.

Lama, who is also a central member of NC, was elected by getting 21 votes in the election held in Hetaunda on Wednesday. His rival NC Bagmati Province Chairman Indra Bahadur Baniya got only 16 votes.

Baniyan, who had previously become the leader of the party, was defeated by a margin of 5 votes. Both NC conducted the election when both leaders failed to finalize the name unanimously.

NC is the largest party in Bagmati State Assembly with 37 members.
