KATHMANDU: Amid dissatisfaction raised by the disgruntled section of the Nepali Congress (NC), the party leadership is likely to “revise” the list of Proportional Representation (PR) candidates for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

Leaders of the disgruntled camp led by Dr. Shekhar Koirala and Gagan Thapa have expressed serious dissatisfaction over the PR list prepared by the party alleging party President Sher Bahadur Deuba for being biased.

Party leaders, including Jagadish Narsingh KC, Gururaj Ghimire, Bhupendrajung Shahi, Pratima Gautam, and Ajay Babu Siwakoti, among others held a discussion recently and announced an agitation against the leadership.

Sources claimed that party President Deuba discussed the issue with the party leaders at his official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening and hinted at “reviewing” the list of proportional candidates.

The leaders are holding a discussion to revise the list of the proportional candidates on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the faction led by Koirala is holding a sit-in at the party’s central office, Sanepa today.

The leaders of the group have warned of staging a sit-in at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar if the leadership did not revise the PR list by Friday.

The dissatisfied leaders have been alleging party President Deuba for not allocating 40 percent share to them.
