SURKHET: Two ministers participating in the Karnali province government from CPN-Maoist center have resigned on Sunday.

Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Bindaman Bista and Water Resources and Energy Development Minister Ganesh Prasad Singh have resigned before Karnali province Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi.

The Maoist Center Parliamentary Party meeting decided to recall Bista and Singh from the government and make Rato Kami from Rukum West and Krishna Shah Acharya from Jajarkot as ministers.

“We have resigned according to the decision of the party,” said Bista, “new friends will run the government, we will focus on the party activities.”

There are 11 MPs from the Maoist Center in the Karnali State Assembly. Except Pushna Ghartimagar, who is the deputy speaker, all will become ministers after Kami and Acharya take oath. During this period, the Maoists have also made Karchen Lama of Humla, a non-MP, a minister for six months.

Bista was appointed as minister on 14th of November 2078 and Singh was appointed as minister on 23rd of January. Maoists have already recommended the name of the new minister. The new minister will be administered the oath of office and secrecy on Monday.
