KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has hailed the mayors who have won independent candidatures in Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City as beautiful flowers of democracy.
Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives on Saturday, Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda congratulated the elected mayors Balendra Shah and Harka Sampang Rai and wished them success in working in cooperation with the political parties.
He lauded their victory and said that their victory has urged the political parties to be more considerate while selecting candidates.
“Balen Shah and Harka Rai are not the threat to the democratic system, they are two beautiful flowers rising to power raising the down-to-earth issues of the local people, they are the beautiful flowers of democracy,” Prachanda said, adding, “Their rise to power urges the political parties to rethink their priorities and be more realistic.”
