Nepal sees 15 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 15 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Thursday.

Out of the confirmed cases, all 15 cases were detected through the RT-PCR method.

Of them, nine were diagnosed in Kathmandu and one in Lalitpur of Bagmati Province. Likewise, one case is from Province 1 and two from Madhes Province. Similarly, one was reported from Gandaki Province.

A total of 5,875 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 4,882 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 993 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, no one died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,951 to date.

Currently, there are 249 active cases in the country as 18 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.
