Darchula village left without telephone service for five months

DARCHULA: Snowfall has halted telephone service in Chhangru of Byas in Darchula district for the past five months affecting local people.

“The area where Nepal Telecom’s sky tower has been installed is inaccessible as snow has deposited in the part. So we are unable to fix the glitches in the tower,” said Krishna Bahadur Gurung, chief of the NTC office, Darchula, adding that the service would resume only after one month.

However, two phone lines for the Armed Police Force have been operational.
