Koirala-led NC faction assembling against appointments of NSU, NTD presidents

KATHMANDU: A faction of Nepali Congress led by Dr. Shekhar Koirala is holding a meeting today.

The meeting has been called at Anupam Foodland in Battisputali, Kathmandu at 1 pm.

The meeting will dwell on the appointments of presidents in Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of the party, and Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the party.

President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the incumbent prime minister of Nepal, appointed Dujang Sherpa as the president of NSU and Bidwan Gurung as the president of Nepal Tarun Dal.

The Koirala faction has been dissatisfied after the party President appointed Sherpa and Gurung as the presidents of NSU and NTD.

Deuba has appointed them as per the decision of the central work committee.

The disgruntled faction, however, has been saying that the appointments were made without consultations and discussions.
