Acharya, Thapa and KC elected NRNA presidents

KATHMANDU: The 10th General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) held in Kathmandu has elected a new executive committee body led by three presidents.

The newly elected presidents are Kul Acharya, Rabina Thapa and Dr Badri KC.

Outgoing president Kumar Pant administered oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected presidents amid a ceremony in the federal capital.

Similarly, Dr Hem Raj Sharma, Mahesh Shrestha, Bhushan Ghimire, DB Chhetri , Dharma Raj Adhikari , Durba Acharya, Govinda Shrestha, Jaya Prakash Gurung, Narayan Acharya, Narendra Bhat and RK Sharma, Dr Bishnu Maya Pariyar, Yashmin Begam and Raj Regmi, Roshan Thapa and Himal Gurung have been elected as vice presidents.

Likewise, Gauri Raj Joshi and Dr Keshab Paudel (general secretaries), Ganesh KC, Dr Devi Basnet, Narayan Kafle, Om Gurung, Ram Sharan Simkhada, Binaya Adhikari (deputy general secretaries), Chiranjibi Ghimire, Gangadhar Gautam, Khagendra Neupane, Prabin Gurung, Shankar Khadka and Abhiman Singh Basnet, Pramod Sitaula, Govinda Gautam, Hom Pandey, Rajan Tripathi, Dr Alili Pokharel and Tika Gugurng (secretaries) have been elected.

The general convention has elected six treasures including women and eight deputy treasures.

According to the newly amended statute of the NRNA, the number of office-bearers will be 95.
