PM Deuba urges NRNs to invest skills and capital for Nepal’s dev



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) to put their capital, technical and managerial knowledge, skills and efficiency for Nepal’s development and transformation.

Addressing the concluding session of the 10th NRN Global Conference and NRNA International General Assembly here Sunday, the PM said unorganized capital and technology of Nepalis spread across the globe should be organised and unified for the country’s economic development. He also said the NRNA is required to move ahead by charting out specific plan of action and strategy to make this happen.

On the occasion, PM Deuba stated that the government was working for policy and legal reforms to facilitate the investment of the NRNs for the cause of the nation’s prosperity.

PM Deuba assured the NRNs for creating favorable environment for their investment and its returns.
PM Deuba was of the view that modern and quality infrastructures were needed for the nation’s transformation and sustainable development and, for this, capital and technology were needed to implement the mega hydropower projects, roads, tunnel projects.

On the occasion, the PM recalled the humanitarian assistance of medical supplies and other supports made by the NRNA during the Gorkha Earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, Deuba described the NRNs as the bridge to make visible Nepal’s language, cultures, tradition, arts and literature abroad.
