SC hearing on Brick-kiln murder case accused Mohammad Aftab Alam’s writ



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to hear on the writ seeking Mohammad Aftab Alam’s release on bail on Friday.

The hearing is assigned to the division bench of Justices Hari Krishna Karki and Manoj Kumar Sharma.

Alam, who is also a Nepali Congress leader, had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging the lower court’s decision to remand him in custody till final verdict.

Alam, who was arrested on charges of using explosives to kill the injured of a bomb blast, had filed a writ petition seeking his release on bail after the lower court remanded him in custody.

His writ petition had been filed several times before. However, no hearing was held.

Alam has been made the main accused in the bomb blast at Rajpur, Farhadwa in Rautahat about 14 years ago.
