UML’s Basnet elected from Ilam-1 defeating Jhalanath Khanal



ILAM: Mahesh Basnet of CPN-UML has been elected from Ilam Constituency-1 defeating former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who is also a senior leader of the Unified Socialist Party.

Khanal lost to Basnet by a margin of 2,957 votes.

Former PM Khanal won all the elections from this constituency except 2056 BS.
