Election code of conduct coming into force from Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has decided to implement the code of conduct for parliamentary and provincial elections slated for November 20 from Wednesday.

Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) Dinesh Thapaliya said the poll body made a decision to implement the election code of conduct, 2079, from Wednesday (September 28).

He added that the EC expected everyone’s cooperation in following the code of conduct and its implementation.

The EC had published the code of conduct in the Nepal Gazette on August 29.

The code of conduct is aimed at conducting the elections in a free, fair, fear-less and transparent atmosphere.
