Police raid call center in Kathmandu’s Jyatha, four Chinese arrested

Police on Wednesday raided a call center in Kathmandu’s Jyatha, and arrested four Chinese nationals.

According to the police, a team of District Police Complex Kathmandu arrested four Chinese from a call center in Jyatha.

NEB publishes SEE results

The National Examination Board (NEB) has published the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) results on Wednesday.

The NEB Board meeting held on Wednesday afternoon announced the SEE result.

According to the NEB records, 9,633 students scored the top grade scoring above GPA 3.60 to 4.00.

US Assistant Secretary of State Lu arriving Nepal tomorrow

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu is arriving in Nepal on Thursday.

Sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Lu is coming to Nepal on a two-day visit.

This is his second visit in the last one year.

He is scheduled to meet Nepal’s political leaders, including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka, and leaders of various political parties.

Lu visited Nepal on a two-day visit in November 2021.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said media should keep itself updated and refined as per the demand of time when the world witnesses a rapid development of information and technology.

Inaugurating a newly constructed building of the National News Agency (RSS) at Bhadrakali here today, the Prime Minister stressed that our efforts should be for providing information to the people in an accessible and advanced way as much as possible.

Inaugurating a training program for the leaders of UML’s sister organization Nepali Utpidit Jatiya Mukti Samaj in his home district Jhapa on Wednesday, the UML Chair accused the ruling coalition of carrying out anti-people activities.

Nepal sees 564 new coronavirus cases, one death in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of 564 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the past 24 hours as of Wednesday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 418 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 146 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 4,454 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

NEPSE witnesses double-digit ‘comeback’, rises by 23.83 points Wednesday

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which fell alarmingly on Tuesday, made a double-digit “comeback” on Wednesday.

The stock market rose by 23.83 points and stopped at 2111.99 points today.

Prices of all sub-groups have increased except business.

Investors of finance companies earned the most in this too.

Dr Arzu meets BJP leader Dr. Chauthaiwale in New Delhi

First lady and Nepali Congress leader, Arzu Rana Deuba met with India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, in New Delhi, on Wednesday.

BJP Foreign Affairs Department Chief Dr. Chauthaiwale informed about the meeting with Nepal’s first lady via his official Twitter handle.

“Happy to meet Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba after a gap of six months in New Delhi,” Dr. Chauthaiwale said.

Water Resources Secretary pays courtesy call on Minister Bhusal

Secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources of Bangladesh, Kabir Bin Anwar, has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and irrigation, Pampha Bhusal.

During the meeting held at the Ministry today, Minister Bhusal expressed gratitude towards interest shown by Bangladesh for the investment in energy sector of Nepal, stressing the need of carrying out activities taking it into implementation level soon.

1,807 EVs imported in Nepal in last fiscal year 2021/22

A total of 1,807 electric vehicles (EVs) were imported in the country in the last fiscal year 2021/22.

According to the statistics unveiled by the Department of Customs, among the imported EVs last fiscal year, majority of them were from China standing at 823 followed by 696 from India.
