Hearing on writ against appointments in constitutional bodies postponed



KATHMANDU: Hearing against the appointment of constitutional officials by the then Prime Minister KP Oli-led government scheduled for Wednesday afternoon has been postponed.

According to advocate Om Prasad Aryal, one of the writ petitioners, the  hearing has been adjourned for today as there was no reply from the Constitutional bodies.

The Supreme Court (SC) was supposed to start hearing the disputed cases in the constitutional council ordinance, appointments without a parliamentary hearing, among others from Wednesday.

A bench of senior judge Hari Krishna Karki, judges Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai had been constituted for hearing the case in the Constitutional Bench.

Four writ petitions and five additional petitions related to them have been filed by advocate Aryal, Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi and others.
