KATHMANDU: The risk of cholera has increased in Kathmandu Valley in recent days.
According to the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control, cholera has been confirmed in 12 people in the Kathmandu Valley till Sunday.
According to Dr. Chuman Lal Das, Director of the Division, cholera has been found in nine places — Sanepa, Dilli Bazaar, Kapan, Bagbazar, Balaju, Balkhu, Bohoratar, Thankot and Naikap — in the Kathmandu Valley.
Among them, six are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, while others have returned home.
Dr. Sher Bahadur Pun has said that cholera should not be treated like normal diarrhea.
He suggested that a patient should go to the hospital as soon as one is suspected to be infected with cholera.
